Lulan Artisans Leading Green Movement For Sustainable Fabrics
New Designs Octagonal Dream and Hourglass Bloom To Be Displayed at New York International Gift Fair
Charleston, SC - NYIGF Booth # 7868 - Sustainable textiles innovator Lulan Artisans will be exhibiting at the New York International Gift Fair in the At Home featuring Home Textiles section. Lulan Artisans, recently awarded the 2010 Innovative Green Design Award from New York House Magazine, is leading the movement for sustainable fabrics. New designs Octagonal Dream and Hourglass Bloom will be exhibited for the first-time during NYIGF. The company will also exhibit their Diamond Fields fabric, which was selected by a panel of independent judges as outstanding among all the many entries in the soft goods category for the New York House Magazine's award; as well as their Uneven Bar Design which was awarded the GREENRetailer Magazine ECO CHOICE Award for Most Sensitive Use of Materials, during NYIGF August 2009.

Lulan Artisans recently finished their first Textile Competition on May 31, 2010. The competition drew entries of more than 1,550 designs and was judged by an expert panel of judges, including renowned designers Ted Boerner, Agnes Bourne, Laura Guido-Clark and Mark Pollack, who both collaborated on Lulan's first two collections, Laura Kirar, Mary Jo Miller, Diane Paparo as well as Cameron Sinclair, Co-founder of Architecture for Humanity, and Susan Szenasy, Editor-in-Chief of Metropolis. It was the first textile competition that was crowd-sourced as well as using Creative Commons licensing to create thousands of designs that will be available to artisans around the world.
Three designs have been chosen and will be added to Lulan Artisan's 2011 collection. Further details regarding the designs, designers and the availability of the products will be announced Fall 2010.
