Mills to highlight branded products at Surfaces 2001

Thirty-three mills specializing in high-end, Wools of New Zealand Branded carpets will be exhibiting in the Wools of New Zealand Partner Pavilion at Surfaces 2001, January 30-February 2 at the Sands Convention Center in Las Vegas. The following mills have supplied information highlighting new products for the upcoming year. Almar Carpets International (Booth #3020) – Almar earns its stripes with a collection of carpets and rugs that have a unique Hombrè/striated appearance. The Tiger Jaspè Rug Collection features seven designs that are handtufted in transitional designs and fashioned in 22 colorways. Its sister collection, Tiger Jaspè Broadloom, consists of a cut-pile style and a loop, tip-shear quality. Both carpets come in a generous selection of 17 colors that include rich earthy tones and deep jewel shades. Bellbridge Carpets (Booth #2934) – Topping the list of Surfaces introductions is Bellbridge's Fall Classics Collection, a performance of masterpieces that include Kohinoor, Eurythmy, Versailles, and Flanders, along with a restyled version of Bellbridge's White Collection. Also, new this Surfaces is a recolored version of Bellbridge's popular Kraal Collection along with the addition of a Spanish-inspired collection of carpets that include three bold patterns with a trio of coordinating borders. And if that isn't enough, Bellbridge is introducing several collections of Wiltons that encompass a wide range of styles, from textured cut-and-loops to tailored two-color patterns. Carter Carpets (Booth #3109) – When Carter Carpets' product development team set out to make its latest offering—St. Cyr—they gave it more than just good looks. They created an irresistibly comfortable carpet that is meant to walk on, to live on and to enjoy. The secret of St. Cyr's appeal lies in its construction. Thick and thin yarns of the softest New Zealand wool are piggybacked to give St. Cyr its extra-chunky texture. Moreover, its pile is cut a generous 1 5/8 inches high to create its chic shag style. St Cyr can be ordered in any of Carter's 201 standard colors or can be matched to a favorite shade through Carter's custom color program. Couristan (Booth #3804) – Couristan brings old-world charm to Surfaces with its Phoenician Colors Collection. The patterns that make up this offering—Leaf Trellis and French Knot—emulate a sophisticated multi-level needlepoint stitch. The styles come in six pastel colors and work well alone or in combination with the intricately designed Rope Border. Couristan is also introducing three loop-pile Wilton patterns. The Balmoral Collection is a series of elaborately designed patterns that are enhanced by a natural color palette. Vintage and Prism are delicate patterns that reflect a sense of age-old romance. Davis and Davis (Booth #3320) – Davis and Davis is expanding its offering of Wools of New Zealand Brand products by adding four collections to its line. Natural Textures is a beautiful group of six broadloom styles that range in texture from checkerboard to sisal weave. These carpets come in eight colors and can be made into custom rugs through Davis and Davis' Centerpiece Collection. More new rug designs are available through Focal Point—a custom collection consisting of 120 styles. Designers simply select a pattern and substitute colors from a standard bank of 84 shades or order custom colors. Landings is a similar custom program that consists of 25 styles designed for the aviation and yachting market. Decorative Carpets, Inc. (Booth 3310) – Decorative Carpets takes to the Greek Isles with Corsica. This thick, loop style boasts a heavy texture that is reminiscent of traditional Greek weaving. Burbank adds its own exotic excitement with the convergence of geometric shapes and colors that are handtufted in a cut-and-loop construction. Burbank comes in six standard shades with custom colors available. Decorative Carpets also utilizes multiple colors in Interlock. This six-hued, cut-and-loop pattern is handtufted in six colorways and can be ordered in custom shades. 828 International Trading Company (Booth #2726) – Due to the incredible popularity of 828's Sonnet Series, the company is expanding its line of English Axminsters with several new designs. The collection has garnered attention due to its tremendous color work, exquisite pattern detail and unsurpassed hand. The rugs are woven in up to 70 colors per design and carry the Wools of New Zealand Brand. Expressive Designs (Booth #2832) – Expressive Designs takes to the floor with three must-have styles. Extraordinaire is a shag carpet made of multi-sized, cabled wool yarns. It has a one-inch pile height and an incredibly luxurious hand. Affluence boasts huge loops of wool yarns with a ½-inch pile height. It is offered in a palette of six Berber colors. Completing the trio is Design Expressions a rib-patterned wool sisal that is fashioned in six neutral shades. Hibernia Woolen Mills (Booth #2732) – Hibernia is rolling out its best with the introduction of four exciting Branded styles. First on the list is Oman, a precision loop style with yarn
placement in medium pile height. Oman comes in natural tones, similar to its sister product, Sumatra—a precision loop pile with a petite-point pattern in a low pile height. Mosaik has an all-loop texture that is subtly patterned in blended neutral tones. It is graphic tufted in a medium pile height. Hibernia's fourth offering, Camden Square, has exceptional design capabilities. The carpet is colored in tinted neutrals that have been patterned in a three- dimensional design, giving it incredible depth. Camden Square comes in eight designer colors Langhorne Carpet Company (Booth #3016) – Among other featured items, Langhorne is showcasing Deux Fluer, an exquisite floral pattern that is Wilton woven in wool. Deux Fleur comes with a matching border and is offered in four colorways. F. Schumacher & Company (Booth #3119) – F. Schumacher is premiering a significant number of Branded styles. Included in the introductions is the Dana Ribbon Collection—five patterns offered in both holly lattice and ribbon trellis designs. These carpets are woven in a worsted, five-frame Wilton construction and come in five colorways with coordinating borders. The Bourbon Street Collection features five-frame worsted Wiltons in traditional Damask patterns with a hint of jewel-tone colors. A full offering of coordinated borders augment the collection's five patterns. F. Schumacher gives tufted carpets a new twist with its Coconut Hair Collection. This three-color series features low, tufted loops in rich earth colors with high cut yarns in contrasting tones. Silver Creek (Booth 2738) – Silver Creek flaunts its exceptional design capabilities with the introduction of Axminster, Wilton and tufted styles. Annabell and Clarabell are two Axminster cut-piles covered in floral and trellis designs. Each is patterned in three colorways with black, yellow and white grounds. They are complemented by Bell Border, which frames the styles in leaves and flowers. Silver Creek has given its popular Pebbles and Bam Bam carpets a new companion—Dino. Dino is tufted of heavy, six-ply wool yarns and comes in a shared palette of six colors. On the list of Wilton introductions are three patterns: a small diamond—Pastina, a medium-size medallion—Penne, and a larger trellis accented with medallions—Rigatoni. This trio is offered in eight colorways and comes with two matching borders. Woolshire Carpet Mills (Booth #2824) – Woolshire brings a trio of new introductions to Surfaces. Deserving of a standing ovation is Center Stage—an all-loop style featuring multiple levels of texture and color. Center Stage comes in 13 colorways and is a superb design choice. Encore is a textured-loop carpet crafted in a tenth-gauge construction. It is offered in 12 soft shades of solid-colored yarns. Woolshire completes the threesome with Interlace. This all-loop carpet has a knitted texture and is crafted in five solid colors.
