Syscom IT Clinic Success At The Drapers Fashion Summit 2008
Fashion professionals from across the industry convened last month at the Drapers Fashion Summit 2008 to share best practice and gain insights from industry leaders on ways to survive and thrive in a slow economy. Held at the Radisson, Mayfair on the 18th and 19th November, the dynamic forum proved to be the fashion industry event of the year, attracting fashion professionals from large multiple stores and independent retail businesses alike. As well as featuring case studies from leading retailers such as Ben Sherman and TM Lewin, highlights included an onstage interview with Marks & Spencer's Sir Stuart Rose and a free IT Clinic alongside the summit from specialist software providers Syscom PLC, www.syscom.plc.uk.
This year's Summit discussed topics ranging from environmental and ethical initiatives to brand positioning, with the industry's foremost figure heads giving advice on everything from how to increase market share to global supply chain management. "A main focus for this year's Fashion Summit was offering companies the practical insights and inspiration needed to improve efficiency and maximising profits in a challenging economic climate so it made sense for us to be involved," says Sally Reynolds, Marketing Manager of Syscom PLC. "As specialist software providers to the clothing, textile and apparel sectors we held a free IT and Software Clinic alongside the summit where delegates could come to discuss their future business requirements and discover new technologies, such as Microsoft Dynamics AX – Apparel & Textile which has been specifically developed to meet the unique requirements of companies in these industries. Much of the discussions at the event highlighted how important it is for businesses operations to be lean and streamlined in today's competitive global market place and climate so we found many retailers and fashion brands attending the event were keen to find out more about how software can help their business to become more profitable, competitive and efficient."
The two day summit was concluded with a prestigious award ceremony bringing together over 1000 fashion insiders to celebrate the achievements of companies across the industry. Dara O'Briain led the proceedings as top UK retailers and brands were presented with the coveted Drapers Awards during this year's gala dinner at the Grosvenor House Hotel in London. Syscom PLC, proud sponsors of Small Multiple Retailer of the Year, congratulated Joules Clothing on their success by presenting the growing brand with the sought-after statuette for this category.
For those unable to attend the Drapers Fashion Summit, Syscom will be holding a free online demonstration of Microsoft Dynamics AX - Apparel & Textile on Tuesday 9th December. Further details can be found by visiting www.syscom.plc/events.
