PTFE Thread Seal Tape

Thread Seal tape is available in two grades, Military Specification grade and Commercial Grade. These two tapes are manufactured from the base PTFE resin. Thread Seal tapes are used for sealing the joints between threaded pipes and fittings. The tape is wrapped around the threads on the male end of the pipe or fitting then the male and female pipes are threaded together. .

FEATURES/BENEFITS:

Thread seal tape provides a uniform seal between the threads in a pipe joint. PTFE has very unique characteristics, it is very slick and extremely resistant to chemicals. The chemical resistance provides a long lasting seal that is also resistant to water, steam and many other substances. Our Thread Seal tape compresses into the threads and fills any gaps or imperfections in the threads providing a 100% seal of the threaded joint.

MILITARY GRADE vs. COMMERCIAL GRADE

Military Specification grade material undergoes strict manufacturing and quality control inspection plus, must be certified to the Military Specifications T27730A or A-A-58092. Commercial Grade Thread Seal tape undergoes the same manufacturing and quality control inspection but is not certified to the Mil Specs. Either type of Thread Seal tape is available in widths of 1/4", 1/2", 3/4", and 1". Standard roll lengths are 260", 520", and 1296"
