BFGoodrich Acquires Personal Care Business of Lambent Technologies

The BFGoodrich Company, leader in advanced aerospace products and services, performance materials and engineered industrial products, announced the acquisition of the personal care business of Lambent Technologies Inc. from parent company, Petroferm Inc. Officials reported the transaction value is under $10 million.

BFGoodrich plans to broaden its technology and product portfolio to serve performance requirements for personal care products - Demand for which is growing faster than the overall industry. In addition to new positions in antiperspirants and deodorants, the company expects to accelerate the growth of the acquired business by utilizing BFGoodrich's global infrastructure, and by developing new products that complement its urethane and acrylics technology.

William Sedlacek, President of BFGoodrich's Consumer Specialties Group said, "From every perspective, the Lambent business is a significant addition to our increasingly broad and innovative portfolio of specialty ingredients for personal care products. These products and their technology platforms will provide opportunities to bring more value to our customers through enhanced performance."

BFGoodrich will take over Lambent's silicone-based compounds and Guerbet alcohol derivatives line which includes the Ultrabee siliconized beeswax derivatives, Beesbutter emollients and UltraCas product lines that complement Goodrich's personal care portfolio of Carbopol polymers, Pemulen emulsifiers, Avalure film formers and colorants.
