Chaus Names Jackie Muldowney Vice President of Merchandising

Bernard Chaus Inc. announced that it has named Jackie Muldowney to the newly created position of vice president of merchandising, where she will oversee all aspects of product development and merchandising for the company's four product lines.

Muldowney has over 15 years of experience in the women's apparel market. Previously with Dana Buchman, she has served as the director of merchandising for all of its divisions, including: Career Sportswear, Petites'; Women's; Casual; Luxe, a line geared toward higher-end customers; and Intuition, a "soft dressing," casual line. Prior to that, Muldowney served as vice president of merchandising of Carole Little's Women's business and as director of merchandising of Liz Claiborne's Elisabeth division.

Josephine Chaus, chairwoman and chief executive officer, commented, "Jackie Muldowney is an excellent addition to our management team. Her arrival, which follows Ivy Karkut's appointment as president and Gregory Mongno's appointment as senior vice president of sales and marketing, continues the progress we have made in further strengthening our executive ranks to support the company's future growth."

Karkut added, "Jackie will play a vital role as we continue to introduce more sophisticated merchandising programs to build the Josephine Chaus brand. We expect that her perceptive understanding of the women's apparel marketplace and her experience working with several major women's brands will be a real asset to our organization."
