The leading textile fabric producers in the USA agreed to use metallic defect labels to identify major defects by voting unanimously for the voluntary standard endorsed by TALC (The Textile Apparel Linkage Council). Pernick produces defect labeling applicators and labels that meet or exceed these standards.

For defect labeling, the adhesive metallic labels are applied to one edge of the fabric (opposite the defect) in order to detect the defects either visually or automatically. The operator of the inspection or debatching equipment can apply the labels manually when the fabric is stationary or remotely by using the Pernick Qualimark label applicator while the fabric is moving.
If your company receives fabric with the defects marked with metallic labels located at the selvage and your motorized spreading machines are equipped with label detectors, whenever a metallic defect labels passes the sensor, the signal output from the sensor can be designed to alert the operator or automatically stop the spreading machine.

For the apparel manufacturers who do their own in-house fabric inspection and need additional labels for defects that might have been overlooked by the fabric supplier, Pernick can supply a variety of defect labels to the apparel manufacturer.

Our standard sizes and colors fill most needs; but, we will be happy to quote on customized requirements as to size, shape, color, imprinting and type of adhesive necessary for your fabrics.
