Ge-Ray's flexibility lies in its close ties with a small group of commission knitters who work exclusively for Ge-Ray to develop and produce a wide range of circular knitted fabrics. The bulk of our basic fabrications are knit on wide-width 14-28 cut machines with spandex attachments. Various machines can be outfitted to handle high-twist, combination, and novelty yarns in addition to standard spun and filament yarns. Most fabrics are finished without a center crease for maximum utilization on the cutting table in open widths from 54" to 72", depending on the machine and the construction.
In addition, Ge-Ray utilizes double-knit, mini-jac and full electronic jacquard machines to engineer and produce novelty patterns, both with and without spandex. Our new Today's Knits division is expanding our capabilities into coarse-gauge machines in order to create the latest in cut-and-sew sweater knits.
