The Filter Residue Scale is a photographic scale representing five classes of retention of dye filter residue. The scale is used in visual evaluation of the dispersibility of dyes and in evaluating dispersion stabilities of dyes. The procedures and evaluation methods requiring this scale are outlined in AATCC Test Method 146, Dispersibility of Disperse Dyes: Filter Test and AATCC Test Method 166, Dispersion Stability of Disperse Dyes at High Temperature.
