This handheld color-guide spectrophotometer is designed to monitor, control and record color and variations in color.

The meter measures 18- × 9.5- × 8cm, weighs approximately 500g including batteries, and requires calibration once every three months, enabling use nearly anywhere. The manufacturer states that the device obtains a single measurement in seconds and the software can be freely configured, allowing use in a variety of applications, ranging form simple color measurements to colorimetric evaluation.

The meter features menu-drive built-in programs and four cursor keys that provide access to all functions. It provides measurements in six different languages and measured data is analyzed internally by a range of color systems, scales, and indices. The result of each analysis is indicated on the meter's LCD display and measurement-related data may be displayed graphically in the form of a color spectrum. The memory can store up to 200 standards and 999 samples. In addition, stored data can be transferred into a Windows application or printer via a built-in RS-232 interface.

Specifications also include:

  • Spectral range: 400 to 700 nm
  • Spectral dispersion: 20 nm
  • Scan time: 0.3-sec (at 1-sec intervals)
  • Measured area: 11mm
  • Indices: degree of brightness and yellowing, color intensity, curvature, tristimulus, metameric, opacity
  • Standards: DIN 5033, 5036, 6174; ISO 7724; ASTM D 2244, E 308, E 313, E 1164
