ILC Dover's Flex-Wall® Verified To Factory Mutual Standards

Flex-Wall is the world’s first floodproofing solution to withstand six-foot water surge

The Flex-Wall® uses high strength textile-based materials to withstand a water surge of six feet – 80 percent more than any other dry floodproofing product on the market. FM is an international leader in third-party testing and certification of property loss prevention products and services—for use in commercial and industrial facilities. The Flex-Wall® certification by FM is expected this spring.

The ILC Dover Flex-Wall® can be configured to surround buildings or to cover doorways, storefront windows, and vehicular entrances. The Flex-Wall® flood protection system is stored at the point-of-use, enabling rapid deployment and retraction before and after a flood event, eliminating costly downtime at the facility.

The Army Corps of Engineers (USACE), the Association of State Floodplain Managers (ASFPM) and FM Approvals have together developed and standardized a water testing program for temporary flood barriers. "If recent flooding has taught us anything, it's that we must continue to identify flood risk, communicate that risk to the public, and to implement those tools and certified flood barrier products, such as the ILC Dover’s Flex-Wall®, which can be used in certain circumstances to eliminate the damages due to flooding," said Randall L Behm PE, CFM Chair, USACE National Nonstructural Committee USACE-Omaha.
