Q. Can the environment actually have a significant impact on physical color?
A. Absolutely. While color variation can depend on a number of perhaps better known factors – such as the type of dyes used, the sample material itself, or the finish of the fabric – various analytical tests have proven that the physical color of a textile sample can change substantially with varying ambient temperature and humidity. In fact, virtually any physical color sample can change appearance with differing temperature and humidity, including plastic, paint, ink, or leather samples.
