JS Humidifiers Offers Free Digital Hygrometer

JS Humidifiers is offering textile manufacturers a free digital hygrometer so they can test the humidity around their production facilities. Humidity in these areas should be maintained at between 65-75% relative humidity (%rH) to avoid static build-up, increase regain, suppress micro-dust and fly, and to maintain product weight.

In cold winter months, the internal humidity in textile manufacturing plants can be as low as 20%rH. This is because when the cold air entering the building is heated, its humidity is significantly lowered.

Textiles such as cotton, wool and man-made fibres are particularly susceptible to low humidity during spinning, twisting, winding and weaving. By humidifying the materials are kept at optimum regain and are less prone to breakage, they handle better and have fewer imperfections.

Dry materials also create more friction and are prone to problems associated with static build-up. Higher humidity reduces static problems and makes materials more manageable increasing machine speeds.

Textile manufacturers suffering from low regain or high static should measure their humidity to see if a dry environment is the cause. The free digital hygrometer from JS Humidifiers shows current humidity and temperature and can display minimum and maximum levels across any time period with its memory feature.

Any textile manufacturers wishing to be sent a free hygrometer should email info@jshumidifiers.com with their name, address and telephone number.
