K-Tron To Exhibit New BSP Feeder Model At Achema

Niederlenz, Switzerland - The K-Tron Process Group will introduce new additions to the Bulk Solids Pump feeder line in open air booth F1.0 A4-B9, at the May 15-19, 2006 Achema in Frankfurt, Germany.

The K-Tron booth will feature the newest addition to the Bulk Solids Pump feeder line: the BSP 135. The BSP feeders are specifically engineered to provide gentle, precise feeding of free-flowing pellets, granules, flakes, powders and friable products utilizing a patented principle called positive displacement feeding. The BSP 135 features three feeding ducts, extending the feed rate range to 4400 cubic dm/hr.

K-Tron will also be exhibiting a special hands-on controls display that will allow visitors to try out all of the operator interface options for the new K-Tron Control Module (KCM) feeder controls. The KCM harmonizes the full functionality of the two previous levels of SmartConnex controls into a single compact new housing, offering more flexibility and even better performance. K-Tron will also introduce a new multiple feeder/ single line operator interface for the KCM, called K-Vision, which will feature multi-language support, including Chinese, and a selectable quad screen feature.

The newly expanded K-Tron PCS Pneumatic Conveying (PCS) Line (formerly called Hurricane) will also be showcased. The K-Tron P-series vacuum receivers feature sanitary design and meet the 3-A Sanitary Standard for Pneumatic Conveyors. The receivers are designed to convey delicate materials such as tablets and capsules as well as free flowing to poorly flowing powders. PCS equipment has been installed successfully throughout the food industry including in snack, bakery, cereal and confectionary applications.

K-Tron will also exhibit the newly enhanced MT12 Micro Feeder, designed for processors requiring feed rates as low as 20 grams/hour. The recent enhancements incorporated in the latest design include a new inverted negative cone hopper design to aid material flow, a redesigned bottom agitator to reduce residual material, a new sanitary scale design that includes complete internal cabling and a more robust frame.

Other equipment models on display will include the Quick Change feeder with Shear hopper and a Smart Weigh Belt feeder.
