Kurt Salmon Associates Appoints New Principal in Consumer Products Division

Kurt Salmon Associates (KSA), an international management consulting firm, appointed A. Mitchell Kates as a principal in its Consumer Products Division.

The KSA Consumer Industries practice provides strategic, marketing, consulting services to food and consumer packaged goods manufacturers, distributors, retailers, and suppliers.

Mr. Kates, was previously President of Izod Club, the golf apparel division of Phillips-Van Heusen. Prior to that he spent 10 years at Monitor Company, a global strategy consulting firm where he assisted clients in the areas of growth strategy, business repositioning, competitive assessment, channel optimization, customer satisfaction, change management, and corporate portfolio configuration. Mr. Kates has extensive experience in the packaged goods industry, where he was a vice president of marketing with General Mills.

Mr. Kates is a graduate of The University of Toronto, where he received both his bachelor's and master's degrees. He will be located in KSA's New York office.
