One of the best result from cutting edge of Nylstar R&D Dept. is the first European-made hollow fibre, the Meryl Nexten.
The sophisticated designed cross section gives to Meryl Nexten special characteristics in term of fabric lightness and temperature regulation. Lightness. Meryl Nexten fabrics are ultra light, 30% less than fabrics with the same thickness and structure, made by standard polyamide.
This provides a unique sensation of freedom and air breath on skin contact. Thermal protection. A microclimate is created by Meryl Nexten, insulating the body from temperature variation.
The light bulk structure, given by high void rate of hollow cross section of Meryl Nexten, permits to obtain fabrics with same thermal insulation (Thermal resistance) as heavier fabrics made with solid cross section yarn ( - 25 / 30 % in weight per sqm).
Lightness and thermal properties of Meryl Nexten permit to combine excellent quality of insulation and strength with comfort and movement freedom.
Thanks to its properties, Meryl Nexten is used in wide range of applications, like winter protective cloths (i.e. Sky jackets), light underwear, lingerie and stockings.
