Outlast Temperature Regulating Fabric Used In Winning Design Of 2009 Project OR

Boulder, CO – Outlast Technologies, the leader in temperature regulating technology, announces that Outlast® fabric was used in the winning design of the 2009 Project OR.

Project OR is a 48-hour student design competition where participants create an original garment that has an innovative use of performance and practical application for the outdoor market. This year's garment challenge was to create a women's lightweight insulated wind shirt. For the first time, all of the Project OR contestants were women.

Outlast Technologies supplied temperature regulating Outlast® fabrics for the participants to incorporate into their designs. Once the wind shirt designs were complete, contestants had to create a proto-type to be judged by Outdoor Retailer-selected designers and industry trend-setters. The winner, Lindsey Schuyler from Florida State University, incorporated Outlast® fabric in her one-of-a-kind wind shirt designed to be shaped like a blouse to add a more feminine flair within the outdoor apparel market. Schuyler will receive an all-expenses-paid trip to Outdoor Retailer Winter Market '10 and a profile in Textile Insight.

Fabrics with Outlast® technology are most effective when positioned next-to-skin to help balance the personal microclimate. Unlike reactive fabrics that wick away moisture, Outlast® technology is proactive, continuously working to absorb excess heat, store it, then release it as the body cools. Products with Outlast® technology keep you not too hot, not too cold®, but just right.

The 2009 Outdoor Retailer Summer Market was held July 21 – 24, 2009 at the Salt Palace Convention Center in Salt Lake City, Utah.
