Platinum and Platinum Alloy Equipment

Platinum and platinum alloy equipment and attachments for the production of optical glasses and monocrystals. The high quality of optical glasses and monocrystals depends on the purity of melts of silicate materials and salts. It can only be achieved by using platinum and its alloys in the manufacture of crucibles. Supermetal manufactures crucibles of 0,5 to 100 liter capacity, multi-crucible melting systems and stirrers of various designs, as well as special crucibles with orifices for the production of light-guiding optical fibers. According to customer's requirements Supermetal supplies crucibles (diameter from 50 to 500 mm. wall thickness from 0,5 to 3,0mm), equipped with stirrers, caps outlet connections and other parts. For the manufacture of the said products, platinum, dispersion-strengthened platinum, dispersion-strengthened platinum alloys (DSPA) and composite materials are used. It allows to prolong in-service time and reduce the mass of equipment and attachments. DSPA and the composite based on DSPA is most effective in conditions of cyclic heating of crucibles for the growth of monocrystals for electronics and jewelry.
