R.L. Stowe Mills, Inc. is a progressive textile company now in its third generation of family management. In 1901, the Chronicle Plant, the first of many textile mills founded by Robert Lee Stowe, began producing 100% cotton combed yarn. Over the years, additional plants were built or purchased increasing the number of manufacturing facilities to six now under management by R. L. Stowe Mills, Inc. The Helms Plant began production in the summer of 1988 as the first new yarn manufacturing mill to be built in Belmont in 50 years. Equipped with the latest in technological machinery, the plant is a leader in high productivity and quality. Today, each of our plants is constantly being modernized with new textile technology to provide the finest single and ply yarn in the country.
