Savane Develops A Golf Pant Program with Natural Technology Featuring Cocona Fabrics

Miami, FL - PEI Licensing, a wholly owned subsidiary of Perry Ellis International, Inc. and the owner of the Savane brand, a men's casual sportswear brand, strikes a licensing deal with Burlington Labs and TrapTek, LLC, the owner of the Cocona trademark and technology, to launch a premier golf pant incorporating Cocona, a natural carbon-fiber technology derived from coconut shells. Savane, known for product innovation, will be offering a new golf pant containing performance enhancing features including: exceptional evaporative cooling, odor resistance, anti-static and UV protection.

The new Savane golf pant fills a void of offering great fitting pants within the golf/casual bottoms performance apparel arena. "In keeping within the Savane product features, function was a key focus in developing this new pant line. The performance attributes are essential," states Stephen Harriman, President of the Bottoms Division.

"The future of golfwear is technologically driven," states Gary Rubin, Vice President and Brand Manager of Savane. Today's consumer expects performance elements in their apparel including functionality and eco-friendly components. "Savane brings fabric advancements and comfort especially in the game of golf."

Cocona fabrics offer patented new permanent features in the fiber yarns including superior wicking to keep you cooler, odor resistant, UV protected. A custom hangtag and labeling package has been designed as part of the product launch.

In addition to the custom hangtag to be provided by TrapTek LLC, a diversified marketing strategy will include print, billboards and retail specific mediums including a promotional 2007 Father's Day gift-with-purchase of a golf scope which calculates the distance to the hole.

The complete Savane Sportswear Collection will be featured at the upcoming February 13 – 16, 2007, MAGIC show, in Las Vegas, NV.
