For more than a century, Schlafhorst has been your innovative and competent partner in the textile industry. As one of the world´s leading textile machinery manufacturers, the company is specialised in two main production lines:

AUTOCORO rotor spinning machine; From a sliver, the Autocoro separates the individual fibres, transformes them - after eliminating impurities - by means of centrifugal force and rotation into yarn, and winds the yarn directely onto cross-wound packages.

AUTOCONER automatic winding machine; The Autoconer - as the main quality assuring link between ring spinning and the subsequent processing of the yarn - winds the yarn from bobbins onto cross-wound packages. The system assures highest package quality and best package structure by automatically clearing undesired impurities, thus ensuring optimal down stream processing.

When Schlafhorst was established in 1884, it started with the commercialisation of spare parts for the textile industry.

... The expansion of the product range led from 1901 on to the production of weaving preparation machines.
... The consequent technological development of these machinery resulted in a technical innovation: the first automatic winding machine AUTOCONER in the year 1962.
... In 1978, Schlafhorst introduced the first fully automated open-end rotor spinning machine AUTOCORO, thus making a major contribution to the breakthrough of this spinning technology.
... In 1991, Schlafhorst joined the Swiss Saurer Textile Group, the world´s largest manufacturer of technologically sophisticated systems for spinning, winding, twisting and embroidery.

Today, with more than 2.2 million OE-rotor spinning spindles worldwide installed, Schlafhorst with the AUTOCORO is the undisputed market leader in the field of OE-rotor spinning. For over 35 years, the AUTOCONER has been synonymous with automatic winding - with more than 1.7 million automatic Autoconer spindles installed worldwide.

Operating from its two production sites in Germany (Mönchengladbach and Übach-Palenberg), the company has continuously built up a global sales network, thus offering its over 100 years of experience to customers all over the world .
