Shanghai, China - With the apparel market's increasing attention to performance fabrics, SDL Atlas will use July's joint ITMA Asia + CITME 2008 Show to introduce three new units that reliably test and measure behavior and characteristics of the latest performance fabrics.

SDL Atlas product experts will demonstrate their Hydrostatic Head Tester, Air Permeability Tester and MMT Liquid Moisture Management System and answer application inquiries at Booth E3A04 in the Shanghai New International Exhibition Centre (SNIEC). The show has generated unprecedented interest among the world's textile machinery and testing equipment manufacturers.

The Hydrostatic Head Tester meets EN 20811 and AATCC 127 testing requirements. Designed for easy use, the new unit provides quick, reliable, and repeatable testing of the resistance of a fabric to the penetration of water under hydrostatic pressure. The tester can be used effectively with all types of fabrics, including those treated with water resistant and water repellent finishes.

The Air Permeability Tester's superior technology measures the air permeability of textile fabrics - including woven fabrics, nonwoven fabrics, air bag fabrics, blankets, napped fabrics, knitted fabrics, layered fabrics and pile fabrics. This new instrument can also measure air flow through slab, bonded, and molded flexible cellular products known as urethane foams. The Air Permeability Tester complies with a number of test standards, including ASTM D 737 and D3574 and ISO 9237.

SDL Atlas representatives from China and elsewhere will also focus attention on the company's MMT Liquid Moisture Management Tester. This dynamic unit can measure and demonstrate the ability of a fabric to improve apparel comfort. The MMT is recognized and used for both R&D and quality control by a growing number of sportswear and performance fabric manufacturers serving this critically important market segment.

The SDL Atlas Group of companies offers the largest range of textile testing products, supplies, consumables, and services available from a single source.
