Servo Drive Systems
Modern machine construction concepts require intelligent automation systems. Control tasks need no longer be executed by a central controller, but can be implemented locally in a distributed arrangement. The company offers users the extended servo drive systems Posmo CA, Posmo CD and Posmo SI for this particular requirement. The drive system is relocated from the control cabinet to the machines with these servo drive building blocks. For the user, this mean relieving the machine infrastructure and a reduction in system costs. The integral version Posmo SI is directly fitted in the motor. In contrast, the two local versions Posmo CA and CD are installed at the motor. The new systems are used for production machines in the sectors of packaging, wood, glass, printing and plastics as well as for machine tools.
In the area of standard motors, the assembly system for drives has already been employed for a long time by some manufacturers. In servo drive engineering, however, the company is the first manufacturer to offer and assembly system with an integral version in the motor and a local version at the motor. The standard fieldbus Profibus-DP is used as the communication medium. Posmo drives CA, CD and SI can be quickly and easily assigned parameters and programmed with the easy-to-use software SimoCom U. Furthermore, the distributed production of the electronics supply obviates the need for a 24 V feed from an external power supply.
The integral version in the motor and the local version at the motor are identical in functionality and connection system. The only difference is that the local version at the motor also has the facility for connecting and evaluating an additional position measuring system. Keyed connectors are used for simple and fast connection requiring no specialist knowledge. The servo drives are utilized with almost all types of motor.
