Solutia Hosts Vice Premier Wang Qishan And Chinese Officials During U.S. Tour
St. Louis, MO - Solutia Inc., one of the world's largest integrated nylon 66 manufacturers and the producer of Vydyne PA66 resins and compounds, was among a select number of corporations to host China's top economic minister and a delegation of 200 Chinese government and business leaders during the group's visit to St. Louis in June.
Among the delegation were Wang Qishan, vice premier of the Chinese economic division, and Ma Xiuhong, vice minister of commerce, both of whom are in ongoing discussions with U.S. industry and government leaders about enhancing business relationships and economic development between the two countries. The vice premier and vice minister both held meetings with Solutia executives to discuss the company's current and future business ventures in China.
As part of the conference, a signing ceremony was held to recognize more than $3 billion in contracts made between the hosting Missouri companies and the businesses represented by the Chinese delegation. Three Chinese companies were recognized for their commitment to purchase a total of $182 million of Solutia's Vydyne and Ascend PA66 resins and polymers.
"China's economic boom, particularly in the manufacturing arena, has been instrumental in Solutia's growth because of the region's increased demand for our products, especially Vydyne PA66," says Jonathan Wright, senior vice president of Solutia and president of Solutia's Integrated Nylon division. "We are honored to be recognized by Mr. Wang as a company committed to deepening trade relations that support efforts to improve economic sustainability and prosperity for both countries."

"We are proud to roll out the red carpet for our customers and give them a first-hand look at how we've positioned our company to be a global leader for quality, product supply and customer service."
