Southern Mills President to Assume CEO Responibilities

Philip S. Vincent, President of Southern Mills, Inc., will assume the responsibilities of chief executive officer effective April 1, 2000. Doug Ellis will continue as chairman of the Board.
Vincent, an engineering graduate of Georgia Tech, with a MBA from the University of West Virginia, joined Southern Mills as plant manager in 1972. He led the company's Cabletex lawnmower bag division from 1973 to 1980, and was elected vice president of manufacturing in 1981. Later, Vincent became a director and chief operating officer and was elected president in 1990.
Vincent served as past president of the Georgia Textile Manufacturers Association (1990-91), representing the state of Georgia's largest industry, and is an active member of the Georgia Tech, School of Industrial and Systems Engineering, Alumni Advisory Board.
Southern Mills is an industrial and apparel textile manufacturing company headquartered in Atlanta, GA, with five plants and over five hundred employees.
