Tapistron International Announces Domestic Sale of CYP System
Tapistron International announced the sale of their sixth Computerized Yarn Placement (CYP) Machine in North America.

With manufacturing capabilities of 15-foot widths, the simultaneous cut-and-loop CYP system is one of the most sophisticated tufting machines in the floor covering industry.

The machine can support up to six colors per needle, which are electro- mechanically selected and placed into position within the machine's needle configuration. It is then injected into a primary backing utilizing Tapistron's proprietary touch-screen control software. With only 552 ends, there is less down-time on creeling, making it easier to undertake short production runs.

Rodney C. Hardeman, Jr., President and C.E.O., stated, "Demand for Tapistron created products in the hospitality market, for area rugs, and the recent introduction by Mohawk Carpet of three new running line residential styles has significantly impacted the awareness of the versatility of our new machine." Worldwide installations of Tapistron CYP systems now stand at 40 units.

Officials reported profits of approximately $400,000 or $.011 cents, versus a loss of approximately ($250,000) during the same period last year. The Company predicts a loss for the quarter ending January 31, 2000 of approximately ($200,000), versus a profit of $20,000 for the same fiscal '99 period.

"While the final results for the second fiscal quarter ending January 31, 2000, will not produce a second consecutive quarter of profitability, our internal plan for delivery of units to achieve that goal for the full year remains on schedule," concluded Mr. Hardeman.
