Carrington Fabrics is well-known in the military sector as its fabrics are worn by armed forces across the UK, Europe, the Middle East and Australia. The manufacturer recently launched a new military fabric as part of its Defence Range: Spartan HT Flex Lite. This fabric was created in response to the market’s demand for durable and comfortable army uniforms.

Spartan HT Flex Lite is a ripstop fabric that combines 37% cotton for comfort and 2% LYCRA for stretch. To increase its strength and durability, it also includes 61% of CORDURA military grade high tenacity nylon. This lightweight fabric can be suitable for combat uniforms in a wide variety of regions and can feature bespoke prints.

Carrington Textiles R&D Manager said:
“We are seeing a growing trend for wearer comfort; this has transitioned from workwear to flame retardant, so it’s only natural that we see this transition into the defence sector. We wanted to develop a product that protects the wearer in the most challenging environments but at the same time is comfortable to wear”.
